Monitoring

Environment, building equipment, industrial sites and ITsystems, as well as utilities, need to monitor their environment and operational conditions reliably and efficiently. An overview of selected variables such as temperature, pressure, dew point, lighting level, air quality, machine operation or vibration, provide a comprehensive picture of the state of the equipment and enable the operator to respond appropriately.

Water Detection: Sensing cable versus Flood sensor

Detection of water is important in many businesses. There are different ways how you can detect the presence of water on your premises. HW group provides the ideal solution for Water Leak Detection (WLD) with a Sensing cable that is developed to protect your facility against any water damage that might threaten you. We also offer a simple sensor for Flood detection in one spot. The difference between Water Leak Detection with a Sensing cable and simple spot water detection with a Flood sensor is explained in this article.

Water Leak Detection uses a sensing cable that detects water along the entire cable length and a WLD device (WLD2 / NB-WLD / ...) that can communicate an alarm in case of water occurrence (a few drops anywhere on the cable is enough). Spot water detection sensors are able to detect water only in 1 spot (the detector has to be entirely flooded) and are further connected to a monitoring device (STE2 / Poseidon2 / ...) that triggers the alarm.
