Monitoring

Environment, building equipment, industrial sites and ITsystems, as well as utilities, need to monitor their environment and operational conditions reliably and efficiently. An overview of selected variables such as temperature, pressure, dew point, lighting level, air quality, machine operation or vibration, provide a comprehensive picture of the state of the equipment and enable the operator to respond appropriately.

Activating a remote output using a SensDesk condition

Activating an output of a remote unit using a SensDesk condition is one of the highest feats in terms of cooperation and communication among multiple devices (M2M mode). It requires cooperation not just among devices of the same family, but also among different devices that do not share a common communication protocol other than HWg-PUSH to communicate with the SensDesk portal.

MQTT - universal protocol for cloud and IoT applications

Protocol intended especially for sensor networks, used by many manufacturers of sensor devices as well a universal single-board applications, including HW group. Its main advantage is small data overhead leading to fast transfer, which is ideal for IoT applications. Data can be shared using private or public brokers, and MQTT is also supported by cloud services; this makes it easy to integrate devices with third-party applications. An example of Poseidon2 and Raspberry Pi shows the advantages of MQTT for interconnecting systems.

How to reset devices

Factory default reset is used for the following reasons: when a password is forgotten, the IP access filter is blocking access to the device interface or if a customer wants to have the device in factory default after tests or for sale to the customer. In the case where the device is accessible we can execute reset via WWW interface (HWg-Ares via AresConf). In other cases we have different options as follows in this Application note
